Leland Foland

Leland Clark Foland passed away on December 21, 2014 in Mansfield, TX.

Leland was born in Sheridan, Missouri in 1941. He attended Missouri Valley College and SW Baptist University, where he acquired Bachelors Degrees in Psychology, Sociology and Human Relations. He also received an Associates Degree in Engineering. He served 3 1/2 years in the Air Force before working in the airline industry where he retired. After retiring he worked for Six Flags over Texas and the Cowboys Stadium. Leland was an active member of the American Legion and the 40&8 club. He also did work with the Boy Scouts, being an Eagle Scout himself, and attended National and Global Jamborees. He helped out with ROTC and American Legion youth groups. He volunteered at the YMCA and the Red Cross. He generally loved being outdoors camping, fishing, playing sports, shooting at the gun range and traveling.

Leland was born to Harold & Eunice Foland. The oldest of four children, He is preceded by Burl Foland and survided by Ted Foland and Alice Baker. He was married on December 8, 1973 to Frances Hoehn Foland. He has two daughters Mary Ann Foland Nix and Margaret Ann Foland. He has a grandson Alexander Clark Nix. Leland is preceded by his parents, brother and Diana Baker Devick. He is survided by Loraine Foland, Paul Foland, Tim & Frances Foland, Phillip & Laurie Foland & family, Andy & Jeannie Foland & family, Ted & Barbara Foland, Todd & Teresa MeNeal, Jason & Brook Foland & family, Alice Baker, Lisa Baker & family, Sean Baker & family, Jason Nix. He is uncle, great uncle and cousin to many more. Leland was great friends to Ron & Beverly Linebarger, Bob & Linda Patterson, Josh Finkerbinder, Brian McGee & family, Tim Hefernan & family. He touched many peoples lives and was friends with everyone he meet.

There will be a memorial service at his church, Arlington Park Baptist Church with burial at the DFW National Cementary the following day. Times to be announced shortly, possibly after the first of the year.
